2008 Domaine de l’Ecu Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Expression de Gneiss
A bit too yeasty, and not as much “sparkling” acidity as I want in a Muscadet. The Chasseloir is better. – Tasted 5/31/2010.

Classic bordeaux, strong graphite and fruit backed up good acidity and tannins with potential for many more years (90 pts.) – Tasted 5/30/2010.

Very nice showing for this wine. It was my WOTN. Strawberry in color with slight orange hues. Great nose of watermelon and minerals. On the palate, big cherry notes with some strawberries. Smooth. Some watermelon on the finish. Just a delicious wine. (90 pts.) – Tasted 5/26/2010.

Just outright good now. Sexy fruit wich gains a little fatnes and sweetnes in the glas. But still a cool refreshing drink wich leaves you thirsting for more. Best on day one. Lost a little fruit after two days in the fridge. Got a little more steely and mineral, but I preferede the fruit. (91 pts.) – Tasted 5/25/2010.

Great bottle, love that thick textured oily Condrieu with strong notes of Apricot, nuts and apple. (93 pts.) – Tasted 5/24/2010.

A fair dosage of dark fruit on the nose and palate but I could not help but feel this was one-dimensional. Also sensed a little too much oak and alcohol for my liking. The wine rounded out slightly in the course of approx. 2 hours, but even then I didn’t find it compelling, although quaffable. (85 pts.) – Tasted 5/23/2010.
