Tasted at a charity event (GGFAGC/09). This mid colour syrah gets it. I find that most syrahs these days are over the top with the spice levels way too high but this one was just about perfectly balanced and not too peppery. I enjoyed this better than the SQN “Atlantis Syrah” that I had earlier in the evening. (98 pts.) – Tasted 3/28/2009.

Dark red color with an orange hue. Intense dried nose with lots of raisins, prunes, figs, orange peels and viols. Rustic taste with a good deal of primary fruit on the entry, plums and dark cherries, however on the midpalate and finish the secondary and tertiary notes come out, with lots of dried fruit, flowery perfume, tobacco, vanilla and leather. Dry finish, but mouthwatering lively acidity. Perfectly mature now and very enjoyable with food. (94 pts.) – Tasted 3/27/2009.

Nose: tar with a bit of the beaujolais burnt banana smell, Taste: so different then the smell, better tasting then what the tar baby nose suggests, sour cherry, tons of alcohol, this is not a wine for me (80 pts.) – Tasted 3/8/2009.

Consumed during dinner at Citronelle. A light pink-red with a fair amount of effervescence. The nose shows limestone and chalky mineral notes. The palate is very suave with delicate flavors of rasberry and strawberry. Shows excellent cut with rich foods. Put on weight over time. The finish is long-lasting showing a concentrated fruit and mineral complexity. (92 pts.) – Tasted 3/6/2009.
