One of the best white wines ever. Great combo leading with Chardonnay made and blend with some modern and traditional techniques and varietals. Expensive for a white, but well worth splurging on. (94 pts.) – Tasted 1/31/2009.

(90 pts.) – Tasted 1/24/2009.

Not the explosive nose I was expecting. Kinda dour and understated with maybe a gooseberry thing. Long and fat in the mouth with the oily texture of a riesling. Good acidity and excellent match with salmon. Really opened out after ¾ of an hour in terms of body, smoothness and interest. It improved the longer it was out from the fridge. – Tasted 1/12/2009.

2004 Angelo Veglio Barolo Bricco Dei Gancia

Had that cherry bite and acidity I love in Italians. Also showing some oak with a weighty tannic seam. Excellent with food and with time put on extra weight and gained in body. I reckon this one could probably have gone the distance and improved over 5-10 years. Definitely feel that I popped it too young – Tasted 1/10/2009.

2002 Mitolo Shiraz Serpico

Inky in color. Medium rim variation. Slow legs. Blackberry and blue berry along with a subtle amount of vanilla on the nose. Flavor blasts right from the glass of a mixed berry compote with a hint of dried fruit. Finish is good, seems to fall off too quickly. (91 pts.) – Tasted 1/8/2009.
