Tasted as part of a blind tasting. This was my favorite wines of the blind wines. Brick/garnet in color, with pale/medium color and showing sediment. Aromas of bacon, sweat, leather and earth. Soft tannins with lots of acidity and a powerful flavor intensity made for a well balanced wine. Enjoyed this more than the previous time. (91 pts.) – Tasted 10/2/2007.

This wine was ruby/purple in color with a density visible to the eye. The nose was completely packed of blueberry, blackberry and spice. Thick, blueberry pie filled your mouth, with mouthwatering acidity lingering on the finish. (93 pts.) – Tasted 10/1/2007.

The cork had a leak down one side which was wet to the touch. Yet there was quite a fresh, animal nose, somewhat yucky but it brought a smile to the face. To taste it had a good hit of fruit. The tannins kicked in almost ¾ the way through the fruit flavour, then it finished with a flavour like stale beer or eggs. The fellow in the shop advised at least a 2 hour decant, giving a reason to do with natural winemaking and sulphurs. I didn’t understand all the French tech-speak. By the 1-½ hour point it was virtually undrinkable. At the 5-½ hour mark it was worse than ever: truly sickening and overpowering egg flavours on the finish and last on the palate for an age. Disgusting. (flawed bottle) – Tasted 10/1/2007.
