1962 Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Superiore

This wine was brick red in color with dark intensity, and fairly clear. Aromas of ripe bing cherries, earth, coffee and dried fruit on the nose. Still has a glycerin edge to it, with flavors of pepper and dried prunes. Still a tremendous wine. (96 pts.) – Tasted 4/28/2004.
